The Leadership Consortium, one of Australia’s most respected leadership development organisations, plays a key role in the learning and development of current and future leaders.

For almost 20 years we have been designing and delivering leading edge executive learning and development programs to senior leaders in private and public organisations.

The Consortium is a member-based organisation with a blend of public and private membership. Our current membership includes: AGC, Australia Post, Australian Taxation Office, Boral Limited, CitiPower / Powercor, Dept of Finance & Deregulation, Geoscience Australia, IBM Australia Limited, Medibank Private, National Australia Bank, Roads and Traffic Authority, The Shell Company of Australia Ltd, Victorian Public Service (several departments and authorities).

Continuing our tradition of providing excellence, the Consortium is proud to offer The Dynamic Leader program, which is a leadership development program that is closely aligned to the range of skills required for Senior Leaders in your organisation.

The Dynamic Leader program

Many senior leaders across the Consortium’s membership have attended The Dynamic Leader program in the past. They have recommended it for its relevance, challenge and provision of practical leadership tools and techniques, as well as the great networking opportunities it provides.

The Dynamic Leader program focuses on the reality of driving business excellence in a dynamic environment, by showing participants some of the innovative and highly effective ways that successful businesses from different sectors are solving critical business challenges.

It provides access to the leaders responsible for strategic direction and business performance in some of the most vibrant and successful enterprises (both business and government) in Australia: corporations that have broken the mould and are inventing new ways of dealing with existing problems.

Target Audience

This program is ideal for high level executives with strong technical or analytical competence, possibly discipline-based, who have responsibility for translating complex business strategies into successful results.

Previous participants include:.

  • General Manager
  • Director
  • Client Executive
  • Senior Consultant

framework

The Dynamic Leader program addresses critical leadership capabilities, especially those highlighted in red in the Consortium’s leadership capability framework above.

Program format and style

The Dynamic Leader program deals with the realities and challenges that confront successful leaders today.

It’s very much about learning positive leadership strategies through hands-on, direct contact.

The program includes:

  • fieldwork with exemplar organisations during which participants have extensive opportunity to better understand innovation and creative leadership by working with those who have achieved success in their fields
  • a challenging leadership simulation
  • a personalised diagnostic that focuses on the role of emotional intelligence in effective leadership
  • a one-on-one executive coaching session for all participants.

This is a very action-oriented program with many opportunities to explore both the personal and professional aspects of contemporary business in a dynamic and shifting environment where innovation gets results.

During the fieldwork visits participants will examine leadership in unusual, multi-stakeholder, multi-agenda environments with an art, social or health background which provides a challenging insight into different models of leadership and engagement. ..

The facilitators for this program are Richard Jones and Michelle Morrison, two of Australia’s most experienced consultants and executive coaches.
