SENIOR EXECUTIVE PROGRAM
Expand your horizons

About the Program
The Senior Executive Forum (SEF) is our flagship program. It brings together some of the most eminent business speakers on emerging leadership issues in Australia and overseas.

The Forum blends high-level strategy and business performance in a detailed examination of the ‘front of mind’ business issues that thought leaders in our member organisations have identified as critical to business excellence in the coming decade.

The Forum also looks over the horizon, at the emergent issues and possible pathways that will engage Australian business in the short and medium term.

Target Group
This is a program about building internal capacity and creating opportunities to meet future challenges to business performance.

It is designed for the most senior executives and strategic thinkers in our member organisations, those probably, directly accountable for the long term success of their organisation.

Typical titles of participants in past SEF programs include Group Manager, General Manager, National Manager, Senior Legal Counsel and Director.

What makes the Senior Executive Forum different?
This is a program unlike any other in Australia. As the flagship program of the Leadership Consortium, the Forum stands out for several reasons:

the themes and content of the program are developed in full consultation with our members – the SEF Members’ Reference Group ensures that the event delivers robust, relevant and timely ideas to members;
environmental scanning of critical business issues emerging on the corporate radar; quality and experience of speakers – the faculty have international reputations and the most up-to-date perspectives on the challenges facing senior executives today;
quality of participants – experienced and capable executives used to leading in complex environments who are there to participate and share their own experiences and insights;
quality of design and delivery - the SEF design is at the leading edge of global theory and practice on effective leadership development.

What participants say about the SEF

“The SEF has credibility in spades – insightful, challenging and a strong focus on current business issues.”
“A great learning experience – wonderful mix of presenters with different ideas, all outside the square – very complex, challenging but enjoyable – a great global focus as well.”
“Great job – challenging but also very helpful. Great style and excellent facilitation.”
“Terrific variety of participants and presenters: the quality of participants & presenters; informality; good structure – the return to the paradox each day; excellent verve; 3 days – just right – permits a journey; surprisingly effective formula – it works.”
“Great personal experience – I’ll be a much better person for this experience. We had time for challenging thought & several sessions that took me out of my normal comfort zone to understand society, policy & social challenges & the way my organisation relates to these issues.”
“Thank you! Greatly appreciated the advice, guidance & insights of the facilitators. Their experience and knowledge of learning and group dynamics – demonstrated in such a calm, practical, confident and mature manner – helped me to understand myself better!”

Aims and Benefits
The SEF gives experienced executive leaders an added perspective with which to manage future challenges.

It is focused on the realities of business, yet draws its power from inspirational and highly respected role model leaders who give their time to discuss and debate critical success strategies.

The SEF is an intensive and energizing program based on issues, practice, performance and strategy – the reality of leading major organisations in a complex and turbulent world.

Return on Investment
For the organisation, the ROI includes:

executives receiving direct input from the best and most respected leaders in Australia;
strategic analysis of emergent issues and opportunities, and their impact on Australian and global business;
development of a leadership cohort with the capability to apply leading-edge thinking to long-standing intransigent problems;
practical and effective approaches to generating successful, sustainable improvement to the business.

Leadership involves the expert practice of a set of interrelated capabilities. The SEF touches on all of these capabilities, while focusing in depth on those highlighted in red the graphic above.
